MUCALTIN® (MUCALTHINUM)Tablets
The international title - Polysacharides of Althaea
Contains A preparation containing a blend of polysaccharides (dry blend) from the marshmallow-herb (Althaea officinalis L). Greyish, v>dth patches, 0.05-g tablets are used in medicine practice.
Pharmacological Properties
The preparation has expectorant properties, is low-toxic and has no local irritant effect.
Indications
Mucaltin is used as an expectorant in the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tracts and lungs (bronchites, tracheites, pneumonia, etc.).
Dosage
Mucaltin is for oral administration in I- or 2-tablet doses before meals. When used in children, the tablet should be dissolved in a third-glass of warm water with sweet syrup added. The treating time depends on disease nature, and averages 7 to 10 days.

МУКАЛТИН (Мucaltinum). Препарат, содержащий смесь полисахаридов (сухую слизь) из травы алтея лекарственного. Назначают в качестве отхаркивающего средства при острых и хронических заболеваниях дыхательных путей (при бронхите, пневмонии, бронхоэктазии и др.). Принимают по 1 - 2 таблетки (перед едой). Курс лечения в среднем 7 - 14 дней. Детям можно растворить таблетку в 1/3 стакана теплой воды и добавить сахарный сироп.
